Meet Our Legal Team

Edwine Okuta

Edwine Okuta

Managing Partner

Edwine Okuta is the founding partner of the firm. He has over 15 years post admission experience.

Mr. Okuta holds a Masters of Law Degree (LLM) from the University of London, with specialization in Human Rights Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and is a certified data protection officer.

He was called to the Bar in 2010 and has worked in top law firms as well as Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited where he handled diverse commercial matters. He is therefore well grounded in both commercial and civil litigation.

Mr. Okuta has sound experience in the NGO sector. He served as Head of Legal for Kenya Red Cross Society for 10 years where he contributed to policy development and strategic collaborations with both local and international organizations.

Apart from managing the firm, he is passionate about teaching law and currently serves as an adjunct lecturer at the Kenya School of Law. His interests include international humanitarian law, international criminal law and refugee law. He is also a member of the Kenya National Committee on the Prevention of Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and all Forms of Discrimination.

Partner

Ms. A. Okuta holds a Masters of Law Degree (LLM) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She was admitted to the bar in 2004 and advises the firm on vast and diverse legal matters.

L. Otieno

Consultant

Ms. Otieno holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and was admitted to the Bar in 2010. She has extensive experience in refugee matters having worked for UNHCR for over 14 years across multiple countries and refugee contexts.

L. Osiany

Associate

Ms. Osiany holds a Masters of Law Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University. Admitted to the Bar in 2013, she heads the Conveyancing Department and has extensive experience in conveyancing practice.

O. Anyango

Associate

Ms. Anyango supports both civil and commercial litigation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She was admitted to the Bar in 2018.

E. Wanjiiru

Associate

Emily Wanjiru is an associate in the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Kabarak University. She was admitted to the bar in 2023. She has experience in various areas of litigation.

Support Staff
